WEIJENBERG WINS GRANT FOR SOUND CLOUD R&D / by camiel weijenberg

WEIJENBERG has received a grant from Singapore’s National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster to research and develop a sound cloud design called Nubes using 3D print technique that has a high sound absorption performance and can reduce the reverberation time on specific frequency range.

The designed cells allow lateral expansion in any direction, which makes Nubes both adaptive to its environment and unique. This performance-driven design is developed using advanced computational modeling and analytical software such as Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Octopus and Pachyderm.

The project team comprises staff from WEIJENBERG and Singapore University of Technology and Design.
